I like simple quilts so how about an easy version of a Flock of Geese quilt? I like using my Accuquilt GO when I can and this one uses 2 dies for the quilt center.
- Quilt size is 57×75
- Block size is 6 inches finished (6.5 with seam allowances)
- Blocks are set 8 blocks across x 11 rows
- Inner border is cut 2 inches
- Outer border is pieced – see below
Block A is a 6 inch finished half square triangle
Block B is made up of four 3 inch finished half square triangles
I used GO dies to cut both but you can use whatever method of making half square triangles that you prefer.
The inner border is from the background fabric and cut 2 inches.
My outer border was designed to be cut as bricks from a variety of fabrics that are 3.5 x 6.5 inches but with the inner border you would need some longer bricks to allow for the extra size from the inner border . You can use a single fabric cut 3.5 inches wide or use any size pieces you’d like.
I ended up leaving the small inner border out.
A brown and green version.
Here’s my latest one – an even scrappier version.
- Blocks are set 8 x 11
- Border is cut 4.5 inches
- Quilt size is 56 x 74
