This site is being set up to augment my blog and to store my quilt files. I’m providing these brief instruction sheets in PDF format at the request of readers of my blog and they assume you have a more than basic knowledge of quilting.
Many of these instructions are string quilts that I’ve made or designed as a part of the HeartStrings Quilt Project. Please visit our website to see how you can help make and donate HeartStrings blocks.
These Instruction Sheets are PDF files that can be read by Adobe Acrobat Reader. In most cases you already have this free program installed on your computer but if you have problems opening the files, you may need to update to the latest version which can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/

Thanks for sharing you knowledge. I belong to the heartstrings yahoo group.
Dear Mary, I have just spent a delightful morning exploring your website and admiring your beautiful work. Thank you for sharing your lovely patterns. You have inspired me to do something constructive with all my scraps, which I cannot bear to throw out, but have always saved for “someday.” Kindest regards from Dianne in the U.K.
Hi Mary, I’ve just found your site for the first time and am really impressed. What a generous spirit to share these fabulous patterns. I especially like your quick strippie quilt, and some of the different ways you’ve quilted it.
Thank you — I think I’ll start working on an uneven Chinese coins quilt!

All I can say is WOW! Extremely nice layouts, awesome graphics and great articles. No matter how many times I come here, I am still impressed by the very professional appearance. Congratulations on a job well done….
Hello Mary,
Thanks so much for sharing your site and patterns with all of us quilters…you are an inspiration for all of us with scraps to use up! God Bless you!!!
Hi Mary. I have seen your work and link to your blog on MQ Resource. I love all that you do. I want to thank you for posting so much good information and so many beautiful quilts. I am also a long arm quilter and do it just for myself, charity quilts and sometimes for friends. I may have to try this blog thing and set up a website as yours is so beautiful and so generous to the rest of us gathering quilting information. Thanks again.
I belong to a mini-group that makes quilts for charity using a lot of donated material. We made your heartstrings pattern using navy blue centers and lots of scraps/donations. The quilt is very nice, we love it’s stong graphic appeal. It’s meant for a teenage boy,so hopefully it will bring comfort to a young man in need. Thanks for sharing these wonderful patterns.
I was looking for different examples of Pineapple quilts to see if I could make one as “scrappy” as the Log Cabin quilts I have made. You made my day. Another website also had a paper-piecing pattern, so I am all set. Thank you.
I belong to a prayer shawl ministry and am working on those as well as trying to make small quilts for Project Linus. There never is enough time to do everything.
Hello ~ I didn’t know about this site until just now although I do have your blog bookmarked. Your quilts are beautifully done! Thank you so much for including patterns! Happy quilting!
Hi! I am delighted to have found this site! I was searching for a Chinese Coin Tutorial that I could show to my Doll Quilt Challenge Group at Flickr and feel as though I have hit the Jack pot!!! Thank you so much! Calamity Kim
