I found your site today and was really excited to see this pattern. I am in the midst of making a quilt for my new great nephew and this was a wonderful way to set off the nine patches I had made and the stitcheries my mum had done.

I really enjoyed making the Twisted 9 Patch quilt. Thank you for the instructions! I had so much extra fabric after making three quilts for my closest friends, and I decided it was time to make one for myself. I altered it a little bit; made it smaller and squared the ends of the triangles. I really like the way it turned out!

A quilting friend emailed me the directions for making Twisted Nine Patch, because she was really having trouble with it. You said to keep the 3.5×12 rect. seperated, but why is that important? I just feel like something is missing and can’t figure out what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kathy

Kathy – (a bit late) I think what she means is to make 2 stacks of the rectangles (equal amounts) so that you cut the same number of “right” and “left” triangles. This is a great quilt with movement.

thanks for the info on twisted blocks. I have an animal panel that I wanted to cut up and use this method. Now I know the best way to do it.

I just found your site. Totally love your patterns and very nice instructions. I was wondering about the twisted blocks, you say if our blocks are different sizes to add 5.5 inch to length, but do we need to add to the width too? or do we leave it the same 3.5 inch? Thanks for your great inspiration.

Thanks for these instructions. I made a twisted block quilt years ago, and the directions were to make the block bigger and put a ruler on it twisted and cut the excess block off. I love your site and quilts. I’ve made several of your strippy quilts for babies and kids. I make them QAYG and use the serger. It’s a very fast quilt. Thanks for all you do.
