Because my quilts are scrappy and made from stash, fabric yardage calculations for most of my quilt instructions are not available and when included, they are estimates only – click here for more information.

EQ7 fabric estimates are as follow (untested – use as a guideline only)

Red fabric – 1 and 1/8 yards

Light Blue fabric – 1 yard

Dark Blue fabric – 1 and 3/4 yards (also used for binding)

White fabric – 2 yards

    Hi Mary, from a long time reader of your blog..I belong to a church quilters group and we have chosen your Four Patch Stars as our yearly Quilt of Valor. Nine of them are being made. One of our members did a little re-figuring and we are making the blocks 11″ finished. 17 stars and 18 squares blocks. We will have 3 straight borders r/w/b. We have been making QOV’s since 2005 and this quilt is right up there with the prettiest ones. When finished, I’ll send you a picture. 2 of them are nearly finished and the rest should be done by mid March.
    We also make quilts for kids at the local hospital and 3 area nursing homes.

    I have made this quilt and really like it. But am having trouble thinking of ways to quilt it. I don’t quilt real close and don’t want to just straight line quilt it. Thank you for any help you can give me.
